Dr. Asrar was born and raised in Canada. He moved to the United States with his family during his teen years. He completed a year of surgery internship at Staten Island University Hospital and then decided to switch to medicine, where he realized his real passion lies. He completed his internal medicine residency and was Chief Resident at Staten Island University Hospital. Dr. Asrar has been practicing as a hospitalist in NJ, and is currently affiliated with Robert Wood Johnson New Brunswick.

His hobbies include being actively involved in multiple sports leagues- softball, football and basketball, and spending time with his wife and 4 children.
